Anastasios Tzotzis received his PhD from the University of Zaragoza, Department of Design and Manufacturing Engineering, in manufacturing simulations based on CAD techniques and finite element methods. Furthermore, he holds an M.Sc. in Mechatronics and a B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from the Western Macedonia University of Applied Sciences. He has worked in the Hellenic Sugar Industry SA, participating in several maintenance and reverse engineering projects, related to specialized machinery. With 10 years of teaching experience at academic institutions such as University of Western Macedonia, Merchant Marine Academy of Macedonia and Mediterranean College of Thessaloniki, and more than 40 scientific papers published, he is actively involved in the scientific community. Moreover, he has received a patent for the design of a specialized unmanned surface vessel and acts as a reviewer to numerous scientific journals.
He is currently working as a researcher at the University of Western Macedonia - Product and Systems Design Engineering Department and as a tenured tutor at 1st Vocational School of Giannitsa - Engineering Sector, contributing towards the improvement of both the secondary and tertiary technical education of the prefecture. Additionally, he is the co-author of "3D FEA Simulations in Machining, Springer Nature, 2023", "Computer aided manufacturing and analysis - CAM/CAE, TZIOLA Publications, 2021" and several other academic books. He has participated in the HapticSOUND research project and his research interests, extend from machining simulations and intelligent manufacturing, CAD-based programming for design and manufacturing, to the implementation of non-linear finite element methods and machine learning, as well as to design of mechanical systems and industrial products. Lastly, he is a technology enthusiast and closely follows the latest trends on CAD/CAM/CAE, industrial machinery, robotics and unmanned vehicles, 3D printing and more. |
